PORTLAND, Oreg. (Nov. 24, 2009) – Just in time for the holidays and the launch of the Centennial Celebration of the famous Pendleton Round-Up, arriving in Pendleton on Friday, Nov. 27th is a collection of commemorative items for men, women and the home. The items were created in collaboration with Pendleton Woolen Mills, the official apparel and home licensee of the Pendleton Round-Up, featuring the Centennial theme artwork, “1910-2010 A Century of Western Tradition.”
“Pendleton Woolen Mills has been associated with the Round-Up since the first event in 1910. The spirit of this uniquely Oregon tradition and Pendleton Woolen Mills is interwoven, making this partnership both natural and inspired,” cites Mort Bishop, president.
Famous for its jacquard blankets, Pendleton has woven a special blanket in both Robe (shown below) and Muchacho (children’s) sizes as the perfect way to remember this Centennial Celebration for many years to come. The first of 100 numbered Directors Edition Pendleton Round-Up Centennial blankets, featuring the iconic bucking horse, will be auctioned at the “Let’er Buck Ball” to be held New Year’s Eve in Pendleton.
Men have their share of 100 Year Round-Up items as well, each featuring the new Centennial artwork. They include the Long Sleeve ½ Zip Fleece Pullover in Red or Grey; the Short Sleeve Centennial Tee in Black, Red, Tan, or Grey and the 100 Year Cap in Red, Black, White or Khaki.
