Round-Up Introduces Whisky BBQ Sauce
PENDLETON —The Pendleton Round-Up Association, In partnership with Hood River Distillers and Oregon Growers and Shippers have introduced two new varieties of barbecue sauce featuring Pendleton Whisky as an ingredient.
The new Pendleton Barbecue Sauce comes in two distinct flavors for different taste buds. Pendleton Barbecue Sauce Original is designed for those who enjoy the sweet and spicy style of traditional barbecue sauce with a hint of citrus and smoke; while the mesquite blend has a bold flavor with a fiery, smoky heat.
Dennis Hunt, Round-Up publicity director says it’s a great new product featuring the Pendleton name brand.
“Hood River Distillers approached us with this idea and the board really liked it,” said Hunt. “We are excited to partner in delivering a high quality barbecue sauce like this one. It deserves to have our bucking horse on the front.”
With the excellent quality of the sauce, a good value, and beautiful packaging, Pendleton Barbecue Sauce is quickly becoming a favorite with barbecue enthusiasts.
Pendleton Barbecue Sauce is now available in some of Oregon’s most notable grocery stores; including New Seasons, Whole Foods in Portland’s Pearl District, Lamb’s Thriftway, Pendleton Liquor and Cigar, and many smaller local independent stores and fine retailers. The sauce is also available to distributors through Oregon Growers & Shippers.
The Pendleton Round-Up and Happy Canyon is held the second full week of September in Pendleton, Ore. The Round-Up began in 1910 and is recognized as one of the oldest and most prestigious rodeos in the world and won the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s 2003 Large Outdoor Rodeo Committee of the Year Award. The Happy Canyon Night Show is a colorful display of Indian pageantry and tradition and takes place every night of Round-Up. A week full of activities, including parades, concerts, PBR bull-riding competition, barbecues, dances, gambling and numerous other events begin Saturday, Sept. 8th and continue through Saturday, Sept. 15th.
