No further entries are being taken for the parade.  For those entries that have been received  a letter is being sent to you that provides the following information.   This information is repeated here to clarify the many questions that are coming into  the Round-Up  Office.
For parade entries that ARE NOT riding in a Round-Up wagon or buggy:

Parade entry numbers may be picked up at the Registration Desk at the parade staging area at the vacant lot just West of the Wal-Mart store (also known as the Hatley Ground) from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Thursday, September 16 and from 6:00 AM until the staging area empties on Parade Day, Friday September 17.  If you turned in a 2010 Westward Ho! Parade Participation Form you are Registered, but you need to get your numbered entry.  If, for some reason the desk does not have your number don’t panic, it can be handled right there.  It is the responsibility of each group to be ready to go on time and please assist the parade volunteers in getting in correct numerical order.  This is the first time we have done a numbered entry parade so work with us please!

Since the staging area is 1 mile from the parade start we will start assembling at 7:30AM Friday, September 17.  The Parade start time is 9:00 AM.

For parade entries that ARE riding in a Round-Up wagon or buggy:

Again the Parade starts at 9:00 AM this year.  All of the people who are riding in a Round-Up furnished wagon or buggy need to be the Round-Up Grounds parade assembly area no later than 7:30 AM.  Again assembly area for those riding in a Round-Up provided wagon or buggy is the Round-Up Grounds and not the Hately Ground staging area.  To get to the Round-Up Grounds assembly area walk, or have someone drop you off  at the Dairy Queen gate to the grounds on SW Court Ave.  There will not be any parking available on the Round-Up grounds so again please be prepared to be dropped of.   Enter the grounds through the gate and walk North (toward the river) into the grounds until you see a sign on the left which says Parade Wagon & Buggy Riders Here with an arrow pointing to the left.  All riders must walk in as no vehicles will be allowed onto the Round-Up Grounds.

You will check in with the ladies with the clipboards to let them know you or your group are / is here.  They may tell you to wait or they may get you on your ride right away.  The Round-Up grounds assembly area is the  only place that riders using Round-Up provided wagons or buggies  may get on their rides.  There will not be any opportunities for riders to get on a wagon or buggy at or near the start of the Parade this year.

Thanks for your cooperation in making this year’s Westward Ho! Parade a truly Centennial event!
